The 5-step refill
Step 1. Grab your PHREND.
Step 2. Remove the medical-grade silicone sleeve by gently pulling it from the top. The sleeve is reusable, so set it aside.
Step 3. Grab your fresh refill and slide it into the silicone sleeve.
Step 4. Make sure the closed, grated end of the cartridge faces the bottom of the sleeve. This is the part that does the work, so orientation matters.
Step 5. Snap it back together and enjoy up to another 500 exhales.

Why the refill model matters
We designed the PHREND system around one idea: give you a way to filter the air you exhale without piling up waste. Every part has a purpose after it leaves your hand.
The cartridge is biodegradable, made of a plant-based polymer that decomposes in a landfill. The packaging is recyclable. The silicone sleeve is reusable, refill after refill.
An exhale-through filter only treats what you exhale through it. It does not capture sidestream smoke from a lit product. A personal smoke filter does not make smoking or vaping safe and is not a health device.
A few quick tips
If your exhale starts to feel less filtered or you notice any odor coming through, that is your cue. The cartridge has done its 500 and earned its retirement.
Keep a spare or two on hand so you are never caught without one. Most PHREND users like to reorder before they hit empty, not after.
If the silicone sleeve ever gets sticky or dusty, a quick rinse with warm water and a full air-dry will have it good as new.
